Kirstin is a results-driven communications leader with 12+ years of experience executing multi-channel brand strategies.

As a journalist, she has mastered the ability to meet incredibly tight deadlines while serving diverse audiences on broadcast, streaming, and social media platforms.

Kirstin is a trusted leader and guide for her community in times of uncertainty. She has extensive training in preparing people for large-scale natural disasters including wildfires and hurricanes. She is committed to accuracy and timely information in high stakes situations like elections, union strikes, the tragedy at Pulse nightclub, the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2022 University of Idaho murders.

Kirstin is a proud mom of two.

Can new gene therapy save children from 'bubble boy' disease?

It's almost impossible to start a conversation about Severe Combined Immunodeficiency, or SCID, without referencing the 1976 movie "The Boy in the Plastic Bubble," starring John Travolta. The film was inspired by the life of David Vetter, a child born in 1971 with SCID and treated in hospitals inside a specially designed sterile plastic bubble until he died at age 12.


Childcare costs breaking the budget

Spunky two-year-old Teagan, Ashley Tyacke's youngest daughter, attends a local daycare in Spokane that charges $1,250 per month for toddlers. It's a steep climb in childcare tuition from the last time she enrolled her now-teenage children in daycare.


Limb differences unite boy and his hero

Look out, an Orlando 1-year-old with limb differences is breaking the internet again. This time while hugging his hero, Seattle Seahawks linebacker and former UCF Knight Shaquem Griffin. Colleen Tidd, the boy's mother, said the family had always dreamed of introducing Joseph to the NFL star born with amniotic band syndrome.
